MEDICATION DOSING GUIDE
Emergent pediatric care has been historically associated with high rates of medication errors. Thousands of pediatric medication dosing errors are suspected each year, and many can cause harm. Many providers report the desire to have a useful reference tool specific for their service's needs.
To help combat this problem across our state, Missouri EMSC, in partnership with the MU Health Care Ambulance Service's Training Department, has created a free, customized pediatric medication dosing guide for emergency care providers.
This dosing guide gives educators and medical directors a fully customized dosing chart for commonly carried emergency medications. The user of this tool will be able to change the dosing formula of each medication per local protocol, as well as vial concentrations to match what is being utilized in the field. Once the customization is complete, the guide will generate a downloadable, physical reference chart that can be placed in jump bags, protocol books, pediatric code cards, and other patient care areas. The guide also creates an online pocket guide reference book to be utilized by providers that prefer to use electronic devices.
In order to utilize the device, the user must have access to a Gmail account as the device is hosted in the Google Drive platform. If you would like to utilize this chart, and meet the two requirements below, please send an email request by clicking the button labeled "Dosing Guide Request".
